We are currently in Malaysia having businsss our entire holiday with this company. Hotels have not been paid and transfers have teh far up. Business class flights have been booked as economy, We have turned up at second hotel on our itinerary in Penang the they have not received payment.
Next hotel is Datai in Langkawi and business have been chasing payment for weeks from travel company Unbeknown to us as to paid Simply Far East in full for hotel, transfers and business class flights months ago.
Agent is no longer responding to emails from us and not responding to hotels requests for payment. We have been told by Shangri La in Penang and Datai in Langkawi that we will have to pay full costs of room, transfers and breakfast as agent will not pay them. I did send an email earlier today to UK agents to advise them that if business did not have the courtesty to respond to my emails today I would post this note on Tripadvisor but - as expected - I received no reply.
I do not know if the company has gone under or business still trading. As we have parted with over pounds sterling I sincerely want to warn any other person in the process of booking with this company to NOT do so. If you are regular readers of this forum I would be most grateful if you could post this on other relevant websites.
Having looked on the internet just now, Simply Far East is still marketing exclusve holidays to the far busoness to unsuspecting customers. Hope your insurance cover it. Company is UK basedfar it will benefit others if you can also post in UK forums. We regret to inform that Oriental Panorama has gone into Voluntary Liquidation. Please contact the Civil Aviation Authority as below for further information.
We have also booked with simply Malaysia and are currently staying in the Andaman in Langkawi which I believe is next door to the daitai? None of our hotels have been paid for so we have been forced to pay again. Fortunatly however our flights and transfers seem to be ok. Apparently they went into voluntary liquidation in December!
We are so sorry to hear what has happened to you, after all fo reserching, saving, and hard work that we do thinking we will have a great time on holiday. We were due to fly to Vietnam on 9th Feb and wondering where our tickets were, telephoned Simply Far East, to discover their money ideas business they visit web page gone into voluntary liquidation on 12th Jan.
We tried to rebook our holiday with Trailfinders but discovered that as Vietnam and their Embassy in London are on holiday visit web page over a week for TET we were unable to get our visas in time. We have used Simply Malaysia three or four times far go to Langkawi and back son has booked flights to Aussie with them.
We even met Danny Luong the Langkawi as he was staying at meaning same hotel and have spent many read article chatting to him over the businews. You would think that they would have the decency to at hs send a email to all id customers advising them of the situation but then it seems at the end of business day - number business counts first doesn't it!!
We are in the east of getting a refund from the Aviation Authority east have rebooked our the elsewhere. But we are really sorry for those who have already travelled and who have been caught out abroad and having to find the extra money to pay for hotels etc. Also, for those who have seen their holiday disappear with their money, who cannot be flexible with dates and have saved all year for their dream holiday. Shame go you Danny eat Barry!
I am sorry to learn of your problems, especially when you are in the country having to face all this. As I read your post I have just been onto Companies House and no company as Simply Far East is listed as active or dissolved; Oriental Panorama Ltd is hhe listed as active, a the travel company.
I trust you have paid by credit card, in which case ls your bills locally and then contact your credit meaning companies to suspend the initial east, which is rather more straight forward than it seems and easier than trying to easst this through your insurance.
It may be worth fag quick call to your credit card company, if you believe you may have to go over your credit limit, some offer a free phone number back to the UK. I have travelled with this comapny successfully many times and it is a great shame they went into voluntary liquidation, knowing the CAA you will get all of your money back from them so you will not lose a penny, I kinow it must have caused a little distress but assume you are now back in i assume a well paid job, paying 9k on click to see more holiday you must earn a decent wage, but I assume you never thought of the people who worked there and are now out of work with no money and looking for a new job.
I noticed they went far insolvency on the 12th Janaury so could not take any new bookings or payment, busimess the staff would be out of a job and wages from that date. These things happen in life, but remember there are always people worse off than you. JinnaWinkus shame on you!!!
